The Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and Ministry of mine, Industry and Trade, as the main regulating bodies in this field, have enacted certain regulations on exportation and importation of goods in Iran. The governing law in this area is the Export-Import Regulations Act with the latest amendment. This Act is extended to cover matters of delivery of related services to all exporters and importers. A classification system of exportable and importable goods is also in place. Three categories exist at the present time and those are the following:
Permissible goods: relevant criteria attached to these goods must be observed and upon the observance, the exportation and importation of these goods shall not require a license;
Conditional goods: In order to be able to export or import this category of goods a license must be obtained and via the license exportation and importation of these goods becomes possible and permissible;
Prohibited goods: These goods have an absolute prohibition on them. This means that the exportation, importation, purchase, sale or consumption is prohibited. This prohibition is put
in place by Islamic Sharia law and also via national law.

Under the relevant Iranian laws and regulations company means the union of capital and credit of two or more than two persons in order to conduct allowed activities. To enjoy protection of the law company must be registered before the relevant authority which in Iran is the Corporate Registration Bureau. By registering the company, it becomes a legal entity, separated from its founders, with its own asset and property. This make it easier and more reliable for people to develop their business with the company or vice versa.
Furthermore, being registered, the company can benefit from many advantages that laws and regulations offer to valid registered companies; of which the followings may be stated:
Ease of use of bank facilities;
Possibility of opening a business account;
Possibility of participating in governmental tenders;
Possibility of getting discounts and tax breaks;
Possibility of conducting certain activities allowed only to legal entities
